Fixed and Modular KADRA Skylights Installed at ASA Cons Romania
We recently completed the installation of no less than 12 skylights for ASA Cons Romania, one of the most important Romanian producers of prefabricated concrete for non-residential constructions.
The project was complex, with specific features of an industrial construction, so KADRA engineers specialized in automated access solutions for industrial buildings and logistics centers analyzed the project and recommended the most suitable solutions to address both the need for space ventilation and ensuring natural lighting.
What Was the Request from ASA Cons Romania?
Being a space mainly intended for welding, a large amount of smoke is released, so ASA Cons Romania needed a smoke evacuation solution.
At the same time, being a large industrial space, the client also needed a natural lighting solution.
Analyzing the project, KADRA engineers recommended installing both skylights and ventilation hatches, as well as vertical glazing.

What Automated Access Solutions Were Installed?
Firstly, a modular skylight with dimensions of 2×90 m was installed, which has the advantage of allowing up to 5 times more light to enter compared to vertical windows. This was installed together with 6 ventilation hatches, which ensure both daily ventilation and light input. One of the major benefits of installing ventilation hatches is that they represent a lightweight construction, ensuring optimal light transfer and requiring opening with a 230V electric motor, 300mm stroke.
Additionally, 12 vertical glazing units with dimensions of 5.8×1.5 m were installed, with an included ventilation hatch of dimensions 1.1×1.5 m, which has a closure with white opal polycarbonate with a thickness of 16 mm, allowing light passage.
Given the large space, KADRA engineers also installed 11 fixed skylights with dimensions of 1.4×2.3 m. KADRA fixed skylights are the ideal solution when natural light needs to penetrate the interior space throughout the day, especially for spaces where the activity requires strong light, as is the case with the ASA Cons Romania project, and artificial light is not an option.
Additionally, 11 ventilation hatches with dimensions of 1.4×2.3 m were installed. The KADRA natural ventilation hatches installed at ASA Cons Romania are designed to meet the need to reduce the mass of hot air that rises to the top of the building, representing a noise-free and economically accessible ventilation solution.
