Automated building ventilation

Automated building ventilation
KADRA's approach
In the current context, ensuring a healthy and energy-efficient indoor environment is essential for modern buildings. Automated natural ventilation is an optimal solution, allowing the circulation of fresh air and reducing dependency on mechanical climate control systems.
KADRA addresses this challenge by implementing intelligent ventilation systems that integrate window actuators and control units equipped with temperature, wind, and rain sensors. These systems allow automatic opening and closing of windows, ensuring an optimal indoor climate and contributing to significant energy savings.
Benefits
The automated ventilation solutions offered by KADRA improve indoor air quality and energy efficiency of buildings, adapting to the specific needs of each project.
Improving Air Quality
Constant circulation of fresh air reduces CO₂ concentration and eliminates indoor pollutants.
Energy Efficiency
Reducing the use of mechanical climate control systems leads to energy savings of up to 20-30%.
Easy Integration
The systems can be easily integrated into existing building management systems (BMS), offering centralized control.
Enhanced Comfort
Maintaining optimal temperature and humidity indoors, adapted to external conditions.
Customization
Solutions are tailored to the specifics of each project, considering architecture and functionality.
Sustainability
Promoting natural ventilation contributes to reducing the building’s carbon footprint.

Products
Rack Actuators
Due to the rack-and-pinion mechanism, they allow large opening strokes and develop pulling/pushing forces of up to 1000 N.
Chain Actuators
They are ideal for windows of medium size and weight, suitable for both ventilation and smoke extraction.
Linear Actuators
They are used for the automatic operation of a variety of movable elements, including outward-opening windows, ventilation flaps, and roof hatches.
Pneumatic Actuators
The efficiency of pneumatic opening systems is particularly high due to special materials that reduce friction force inside the cylinders.
Actuators integrated into BMS systems
They are equipped with integrated control modules and allow bidirectional communication, being directly integrable into building management systems (BMS).
Service and Maintenance
Automated ventilation systems operate discreetly, day by day, responding automatically to external temperature, wind, and rain. Precisely because they work in the background, a malfunction often goes unnoticed for a longer time — an actuator that no longer closes the window when it rains, a wind sensor that no longer responds, or a motor that has lost its operating force affects both indoor comfort and the building’s energy efficiency. Periodic maintenance of the systems ensures that each component functions correctly and that the entire system reacts precisely to external conditions.
For rack, chain, and linear actuators, the operating force, opening stroke, and mechanism condition are checked. For pneumatic actuators, pressure and circuit tightness are tested. For temperature, wind, and rain sensors, measurement accuracy and communication with the control unit are verified. For systems integrated into BMS, bidirectional communication and response to centralized commands are tested.
For buildings with automated ventilation systems, at least one annual inspection is recommended, preferably before the warm season. In industrial buildings, public institutions, or sites where natural ventilation also serves as smoke extraction, periodic checks are also required by specific regulations in force. A constant service and maintenance program maintains the system’s energy efficiency and extends the lifespan of the actuators.
