KADRA smoke vents installed at Sterk Plast, Medgidia
22 KADRA smoke vents were installed for the Sterk Plast factory, one of the leading manufacturers of plastic products. Sterk Plast is also one of the most modern and highly automated production lines in the country.
What were Sterk Plast’s smoke extraction needs?
Construction of the new hall was completed in 2018 and involved creating autonomous production lines, thereby increasing quality and efficiency across the production flow.
As this was a large-scale project with a considerable investment, the client wanted a safe solution with strong protection performance against a potential fire, so they chose KADRA solutions for smoke extraction, ventilation, and air supply.
In addition to protecting assets, in the event of a fire in a factory it is vital to protect employees and ensure the possibility of rapid evacuation. In this way, using KADRA smoke vents proved to be the most suitable way to manage smoke extraction over a large area while also providing daily ventilation.

How were the technical smoke extraction solutions selected?
After analysing the project, KADRA engineers recommended implementing evacuation of hot gases from the hall using 22 vents. This creates the conditions for safe evacuation of people, as well as for removing heat which, rising to the ceiling, could cause the roof to collapse.
To optimise the client’s costs, KADRA engineers also used 10 ventilation vents, which provide daylight as well as very effective ventilation. The client thus significantly reduced energy costs in the area where plastic injection machines operate, which generate a substantial increase in ambient temperature.
Also for the Sterk Plast project, KADRA installed over 200 window actuators, integrated into a complex ventilation system.
The complexity of the Sterk Plast project in Medgidia enabled KADRA experts to use complete and efficient smoke extraction and ventilation solutions that not only protect people and assets in the event of a fire, but also help offset the factory’s operating costs by reducing energy expenses.
