Turnstile Service
Fast interventions, audit, and maintenance
Maintenance and repairs for pedestrian access in offices, factories, sports centers, and public spaces. Nationwide service for turnstiles and pedestrian access control systems. In-house teams, multi-brand diagnostics, and interventions tailored to the equipment and intensity of use.

Why you need turnstile service
A turnstile that won’t unlock can create a queue at a factory entrance, the reception of an office building, or before an event. One that stays unlocked allows unauthorized passage. In both cases, the access point no longer fulfills its role.
Turnstile service covers the rotation and locking mechanism, the drive system, the electronic components, and the connection to the access control system. Preventive maintenance helps identify wear and misalignment before they cause shutdowns.
KADRA Service operates nationwide, for office buildings in Bucharest or Cluj-Napoca, production facilities in Iași or Timișoara, or institutions requiring access control in Constanța and Brașov. We schedule the work according to the site’s program, staff shifts, and periods of heavy traffic.
5 signs your turnstile isn't working properly

1. The card or ticket is validated, but passage remains blocked
The reader confirms access, but the arms don't unlock. The problem may occur at command transmission, on the electronic board, or in the locking mechanism. Diagnostics follow the command path, from the access control system to the turnstile.

2. The turnstile stays unlocked after passage
The turnstile arms keep rotating without a new authorization, or the equipment allows access in a direction that should be blocked. In this case, the passage sensor, the electromechanical locks, and the unlock commands are checked.

3. The arms rotate with difficulty or stop abruptly
Uneven movement, impacts at the end of rotation, and unusual noises justify checking the mechanism. On models equipped with a hydraulic damper, its adjustment affects the deceleration and the stress placed on components.

4. False alarms or passage detection errors occur
On speed gates, the sensors may signal unauthorized passage even though the lane is clear, or they may incorrectly detect people in the corridor. Dirt, obstructions, or misalignment can affect detection accuracy. The check covers sensor cleanliness, positioning, and operation, as well as the equipment's settings and parameters for the installed configuration.

5. Emergency release doesn't work according to the configuration
The equipment doesn't respond correctly to the emergency command or to a power interruption. Behavior varies by model: some allow free rotation, while certain tripod turnstiles have a drop-down arm that lowers to clear the passage. The function is checked according to the documentation for the installed model.

Act quickly, reduce repair costs
If you notice uncontrolled operation or damaged components, stop using the equipment and direct people to the alternative access point provided at the site. Do not force the arms and do not disable the safety features.
Turnstile services

Technical
audit
We identify the equipment and assess its condition together with the site’s technical manager. The check covers the mechanisms, drive systems, electronic components, and safety functions, including emergency behavior, relative to the installed configuration.
You receive a technical report, recommendations, and an estimated quote, to help prioritize repairs and plan turnstile maintenance.
Maintenance subscriptions
We schedule checks and adjustments based on the model, number of passages, and usage conditions. The work may include checking fastenings, maintaining mechanisms, and testing the locking and protection devices.
The CARE, PLUS, and TOTAL plans provide for one, two, or four annual check-ups. The schedule is aligned with the manufacturer’s instructions and the actual use of each access point.

Rapid
interventions
We handle requests for blocked turnstiles, mechanisms that no longer close, or access points with intermittent operation. We set priority based on the reported issue, the impact on access flow, and the contractual terms.
When contacting us, specify how many lanes are affected and whether an alternative access point is available. This information helps the KADRA team prepare and prioritize the intervention.

Repairs and spare parts
After diagnostics, we make adjustments and replace worn or faulty components: locking mechanisms, dampers, sensors, electronic boards, and drive components, depending on the model.
We check part compatibility and availability before determining the scope of work. If the issue originates from integration with the reader or access controller, we coordinate checks with the manager of that system.
Types of turnstiles and equipment serviced
We assess and plan work for:
Electromechanical tripod turnstiles
With controlled unlocking and user-assisted rotation

Motorized tripod turnstiles
Where the drive system supports arm movement

Full-height turnstiles
Used in factories, logistics centers, and restricted-access facilities
Swing pedestrian gates
Including for wide-passage lanes

Speed gates
With swing, sliding, or retractable panels

Multi-lane assemblies
Integrated with card readers, QR codes, or ticketing systems
Operations are adapted to the equipment’s construction and documentation. Components and functions differ between a tripod turnstile, a full-height turnstile, and a speed gate.

The strength of a group — part of EMI Group
Part of EMI Group, with international operations in the access systems field.
How our process works
A simple and transparent process, from first contact to completion of the intervention. You know exactly what’s coming next, who’s in charge, and what you’re getting — no ambiguities, no hidden costs.
Call us or send a request. Mention the location, the turnstile model, the issue observed, and any error code. A photo of the equipment's label helps with identification.
We check the mechanical and electrical operation, the controls, and the protection features. We determine whether the issue occurs at every passage, in only one direction, or only after certain authorizations.
You receive the proposed work, the required parts, the costs, and the estimated timeframe. We schedule the intervention within the timeframe agreed with the site manager.
We carry out the work and test its operation in the installed configuration. At the end, you receive the technical report and maintenance recommendations.
Standards and compliance
The service takes into account the manufacturer’s instructions, the installation documentation, and the requirements applicable to the access point. The checks cover the operation of the mechanisms, the protection features, and emergency release, depending on the model.
For access points involved in evacuation, the tests are aligned with the building’s fire safety design and scenario.
Trust built in the field
Our results are visible in every intervention and in long-term customer relationships. Work volumes, response times and direct feedback from the field reflect the real level of KADRA Service.

Frequently asked questions
How often should turnstile maintenance be performed?
Frequency is determined based on the manufacturer’s instructions, the number of cycles, and the usage environment. In high-traffic locations, checks may be needed more often. For stadiums and seasonal venues, scheduling also takes the event calendar into account.
What is checked during a turnstile inspection?
The rotation and locking mechanism, fastenings, drive system, connections, and signaling are checked. Depending on the model, the passage sensors, emergency release, and communication with the access control system are tested.
Do you also service turnstiles installed by other suppliers?
Yes, KADRA Service offers multi-brand interventions. The work is determined after identifying the equipment and conducting a technical assessment, depending on documentation and the availability of compatible parts.
Why doesn't the turnstile unlock if the reader accepts the card?
Card validation and mechanism unlocking are separate steps. The problem can occur at the controller, during command transmission, or in the turnstile. Diagnostics check the entire authorization path.
What does a turnstile service contract include?
The contract specifies the covered equipment, the scheduled check-ups, reporting, and the response and intervention terms. The services included for parts, labor, and integration checks are set out in the quote.
How long does it take to fix a blocked turnstile?
The timeframe depends on urgency, location, and contractual terms. Repair duration depends on the fault, access to the installation, and the parts required. When making a request, mention whether the blockage affects the entire access point.
What should the turnstile do during a power outage?
Behavior depends on the model and configuration. Some equipment allows free rotation, while certain tripod models have a drop-down arm. The intended function is verified in the documentation and tested against the site’s requirements.
How much does turnstile service cost?
Cost depends on the model, fault, parts, labor, and location. For maintenance, the number of units, traffic intensity, and frequency of check-ups also matter. The quote is determined after an assessment.
Other equipment serviced
KADRA Service also provides maintenance and interventions for automatic pedestrian doors, medical doors, industrial doors and gates, vehicle barriers, and parking systems. The work is determined after assessing the equipment.
