Service and Maintenance

Industrial facilities are the most demanding environment for access equipment. A high-speed door in a cold storage warehouse performs thousands of cycles per week in extreme temperature conditions. A sectional door at the docking ramp withstands repeated impacts from forklifts and trucks. A turnstile at the employee entrance operates three shifts, day after day. Wear and tear are accelerated, and signs of deterioration—a new noise, slower opening, a seal that no longer perfectly insulates—must be detected before they become a breakdown.

For high-speed doors, the motor, presence sensors, automatic reset mechanism after impact, and curtain condition are checked. For sectional doors, the balancing springs, guides, panels, and electric operator are inspected. For docking systems with leveling ramps, hydraulic or electric mechanisms, perimeter sealing, and communication with in-hall signaling are tested. For turnstiles and pedestrian speed gates, card readers, locking force, and integration with access control software are verified. For vehicle gates and barriers, loop sensors, response times, and safety mechanisms are tested.

High-speed doors and docking systems with high daily usage require quarterly checks. Sectional doors and vehicle gates with moderate use—semi-annually. A maintenance program calibrated to the operational reality of each site costs less than an unforeseen breakdown that halts the flow.
