KADRA Takes another Step towards a more Sustainable Future and Switches to Green Energy for its Headquarters in Cluj

In recent years, concern for the environment and the efficient use of natural resources has become increasingly important for companies worldwide. Promoting access management solutions that contribute to the energy efficiency of buildings of any type (for example, automatic doors), KADRA could not overlook its own headquarters. Therefore, it has taken all steps to switch to green energy for its headquarters in Cluj.

Investment in Green Energy

KADRA’s office headquarters and micro-production workshop will be powered by a renewable energy source, thanks to the installation of a photovoltaic park on the roof of the hall. With an installed capacity of 70KW and a total area of 650 sqm, this photovoltaic system consists of 140 solar panels and 2 inverters. The total ground area of the construction that will be powered by energy from the photovoltaic panels is 2470 sqm and accommodates approximately 100 people, including tenants. This investment not only covers the company’s operational needs but can also produce an energy surplus that can be injected into the local grid, thus contributing energy to the Cluj community and the sustainable development of the region.

KADRA will take all steps to become a “prosumer,” an energy consumer who simultaneously produces a surplus of green energy. This decision reflects the company’s commitment to the environment and reducing its carbon footprint.

Project Funded with European Funds

The transition to green energy was made possible by accessing European funds and the Large Infrastructure Operational Program (POIM). This program was launched in 2022 by the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, aiming to encourage energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy in all sectors of the economy.

The program’s objectives include measures to improve energy efficiency and stimulate the use of renewable energy to support the transition to a low-carbon economy. In the case of KADRA, energy efficiency increases significantly, and renewable energy will be a valuable resource for its own consumption.

Long-term Impact

Investment in green energy not only brings immediate benefits to the company but also has a long-term impact on the environment and community. Reducing carbon emissions and using renewable energy are essential steps in combating climate change and creating a sustainable economy.

KADRA sets a positive example by showing that switching to green energy is not only a viable option but also an investment in a more sustainable future, demonstrating that technology and innovation can go hand in hand with environmental protection. By adopting green energy and engaging in projects funded with European funds, KADRA continues its commitment to becoming an agent of positive change, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
