KADRA Joins
the EMI Group
KADRA, the most important provider of integrated solutions for automation and access management in Romania, enters into a strategic partnership with EMI Group, a European leader in industrial access solutions
December 1, 2023
After 30 years of accumulated experience, innovations, and major projects in its portfolio, through this new partnership, KADRA, together with EMI Group, becomes the market leader in solutions and services for access automation in any field.
EMI Group, with a turnover and EBITDA estimated at the end of 2023 of 26 million EUR and 7 million EUR respectively, is a leader in the field of industrial access systems, with an important portfolio in maintenance, as well as a solid flow of new projects, both from the industrial-logistics segment and from the retail area.
Starting December 1, 2023, KADRA will join the group, which currently includes: EMI Equipement Maintenance Industrie, Decran Belgium, Access Systems Belgium. Due to the synergy of expertise, the companies within the group create a complementary structure, thus becoming a force in the construction market.
Objectives
EMI Group has ambitious growth objectives, aiming to consolidate its position in the European market and expand into new ones. After acquiring two Belgian companies in the field, EMI Group continued to develop its presence in Central and Eastern Europe, and through the M&A transaction with KADRA, it aims to integrate the experience of the Romanian company into its operations, especially in sectors such as medical, commercial, or smart mobility.
Present for over three decades in our construction market, KADRA is a Romanian entrepreneurial company founded in Cluj-Napoca, specializing in providing solutions for automation and access management. At the end of this year, KADRA estimates it will reach a turnover of 12 million EUR and an EBITDA of 1.2 million EUR, with a team of nearly 90 specialists.
By joining the European EMI Group, the KADRA team seizes an important opportunity to amplify performance by unifying know-how across all group entities.
Thus, while EMI Equipement Maintenance Industrie brings experience especially in the industrial field, KADRA complements it with expertise in the medical field (in hospitals and clinics both in the public and private sectors) and with integrated management solutions for public and private parking. The collaboration between the two companies thus becomes an opportunity to enhance competencies, leading to a significant competitive advantage.

"We see this partnership as a great advantage for both KADRA and EMI International," says Octavian Fanea, CEO of KADRA. "It is an opportunity for our companies to combine competencies in the areas where each excels." For example, at KADRA, we aim to grow in the technical services segment, so I can only be pleased to have a partner with very good technical skills and who has developed a solid business in the services area. On the other hand, at KADRA, we pride ourselves on an experience based on a 30-year history in providing access solutions for private or public medical units to whose modernization we have substantially contributed recently. This is just one example. Certainly, together, by combining our experience, we will have the opportunity to be much better and bring added value to all our clients, both in the area of automated access management solutions and associated services. We are honored to be partners with all those involved in this group, which is becoming stronger every day, has already surpassed Romania's borders, and intends to grow through new acquisitions of valuable companies in Central and Eastern Europe," added the CEO of KADRA Tech.

“As CEO of EMI Group, I am delighted to announce that the integration of Kadra into our project represents a significant milestone in the evolution of our offering in the Romanian market. This transaction marks our third operation in less than two years, and we intend to maintain this pace by completing at least two transactions per year. Each entity present in Romania, whether EMI or Kadra, will retain its identity and continue to operate autonomously. Each company will maintain its distinct market approach, and our two companies complement each other perfectly. We intend to unite certain resources to strengthen our teams' fulfillment and improve the quality of services offered to clients." The involvement of Kadra's founders within the group is invaluable, and together we continue our mission to become the leading European player in the maintenance of access systems, independent and multi-brand. I am excited about the idea of breaking new performance records in Romania; this market represents a development laboratory for maintenance solutions. With a team of 200 specialists in access systems, we are ready to serve our clients and partners with dedication and expertise, at a level of service unmatched in Europe,” stated Jérôme France, CEO of EMI Group.
