KADRA Delivered over 1100 Sqm of Corrugated Compact Polycarbonate for the Baumit Factory in Teiuș
The Baumit factory in Teiuș, part of the Austrian group Schmid Industrie Holding, is one of the most modern dry mortar production units in Romania. It has a production capacity of over 200,000 tons annually (mortar and substances necessary for plastering).
For this unit, KADRA delivered over 1100 square meters of corrugated compact polycarbonate with UV protection on both sides. The beneficiary’s objective to find a durable, easy, and quick-to-install solution to replace the old fiberglass structure was fulfilled.
Corrugated compact polycarbonate is designed to meet various types of applications in the field of industrial construction. Available in different shapes and thicknesses, it perfectly matches any metal profile or sandwich-type thermal insulation panels.
It is one of the most solid transparent thermoplastic materials. It exhibits exceptional impact resistance, being practically unbreakable. Beyond long-term durability, it also avoids the danger of shard formation in the event of an accident.
The exterior compact polycarbonate sheets have both sides protected against ultraviolet radiation. UV protection does not reduce the degree of light transmission through the sheet. One of the advantages of using polycarbonate in industrial constructions is that it allows the penetration of natural light, which means savings on energy consumption and cost efficiency.
This range of polycarbonate is a superior material, the ideal alternative to fiberglass. In fact, in the case of Baumit Teiuș, the previous solution that degraded quickly was fiberglass-based, which broke in places and eventually required total replacement.
Although they have a low weight, the corrugated polycarbonate sheets are extremely resistant, with hail or other weather conditions having no destructive effect on them. With total protection against UV rays, the corrugated polycarbonate sheets retain all their qualities – optical, mechanical, physical – for an extremely long period of time.
