The Multi-Level Bicycle Parking Solution at the Smart Mobility Festival in Cluj

The third edition of the Smart Mobility Festival took place in Cluj on July 24-25 and brought together over 50 companies that showcased their ideas and solutions for urban sustainability. This year’s exhibition aimed to promote and encourage green and smart technologies of local inspiration and/or production.

From the first 100% electric Romanian bus that will operate in Cluj Napoca to electric versions of the most well-known vehicle brands, from scooters to electric scooters, these were just a few of the solutions showcased and tested at the Festival.

The Future of Urban Mobility Begins Now

At KADRA, we believe that the city of the future can be built today, which is why we are constantly expanding our portfolio of smart mobility solutions. So we did not miss the opportunity to be present at this important event with a completely new solution for the Romanian market: BIKETOWER, an intelligent, automated, multi-level parking where bicycles and scooters can be safely stored.

We were pleased that our solution caught the attention of Mayor Emil Boc, who attended the event along with other city officials. At the BIKETOWER stand, the KADRA team explained to the mayor that this parking can be placed in tourist or heavily trafficked areas of the city, encouraging tourists or residents of Cluj to use bicycles more when traveling, knowing they have a safe, easy-to-use parking spot on their route.

BIKETOWER is a fully automated vertical system on a steel structure, with 12 sides covered in tempered glass and a foundation made of reinforced concrete. Access is provided via the entry module, which is equipped with an automatic payment machine and an instruction screen, making it easy to use.

Bicycles are fully protected against theft, adverse weather conditions, and dust. Users can store items such as helmets, bags, or children’s bicycle seats. The system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By encouraging the use of bicycles and an active, healthy lifestyle, congestion and pollution are significantly reduced.

As highlighted in the debates at the Smart Mobility Festival, Cluj Napoca is one of the cities in Romania that has already implemented and still plans numerous solutions to make it a truly smart and green city. We hope to soon see BIKETOWER among the solutions contributing to this goal.

Radu Opriș, Andreea Strugaru, and Monica Sagmar believe that the future of the company they own will be based on two major pillars: developing solutions around the concept of free-flow (free circulation and access) and a team with deep expertise, always ready to work with the latest technologies in the field.
