Cazarma 90 - Smart Parking in the Center of Sibiu

Besides the residents who transit the city center even daily, Sibiu is visited annually by a significant number of tourists (the pre-pandemic peak reached 20 million tourists in 2019). The need for parking spaces, as in any crowded city, is very high. Therefore, the modernization of the parking known as Cazarma 90 was more than welcome for both locals and tourists.

Parkomatic System Integrated with the GoPark App for a Smart Experience

KADRA specialists proposed and installed a Parkomatic system for automatic parking management which is integrated both with the GoPark app, also developed by KADRA to simplify parking administration and driver experience, and with the local Sibiu Parking app, providing this city with a Smart Mobility system. Practically, from the Sibiu Parking app, the user is directed to the GoPark app, where, after quickly creating a profile, they can scan the barcode on the ticket and pay directly with the card enrolled in the app. Upon exit, based on the LPR cameras that identify the license plate, the barrier will lift without any further operation required from the driver.

The system is equipped with two automatic kiosks with modern functional design, quality materials, high safety level, and modular functionalities that allow adjustments according to needs, as well as integration and versatility regarding high-speed payment methods.

Secure Access with the License Plate Recognition System

At the entrance and exit of the parking, LPR video cameras have been installed to recognize the vehicle’s license plate. This system allows that, after payment is made at the automatic kiosks or via the app, upon exiting the parking, there is no need to scan the barcode – the barrier will lift automatically after the license plate is identified by the video cameras.

For the same reasons of modernization and increasing operational speed at the entrance and exit of the parking, the barriers have been replaced with rapid automatic barriers for heavy traffic, which open in less than a second, also equipped with incorporated RGB LEDs on the arm for optimal visibility of open-closed positions.

Parkomatic parking systems allow contactless card payment and mobile phone payment via NFC, as well as payment with banknotes and coins. They are much simpler and more intuitive to use, with instructions displayed on a generous screen.

The GoPark app was developed by experienced parking system specialists at KADRA to facilitate, on one hand, for parking administrators the way these are managed, and, on the other hand, to create a fluid and comfortable experience for drivers using a parking system equipped with Parkomatic kiosks and who use the GoPark app.
