KADRA Installs the Automated Parking Management System at the Philip Morris Factory in Otopeni

Philip Morris International, the global producer of cigarettes and smoke-free products, owns one of the most modern production units in Romania, in Otopeni, established in 1993 and extensively modernized over the years. Since 2017, PMI has invested over 500 million USD in transforming the Otopeni factory into a production center for IQOS consumables and other smoke-free products. Of this amount, nearly 100 million dollars were invested in 2021.

As a result of the modernization of the production facility, there arose a need for optimizing the parking intended for employees working at the factory. For this, KADRA specialists proposed a vehicle access control system using equipment from our partner Green. The solution allows the factory administration to know in real-time how many parking spaces are available, the time each employee who travels with the company car arrives/departs, etc.

Fast and Secure Access to the Factory Parking with an Automated Number Recognition System

Two entry-exit terminals were installed, two automatic electromechanical barriers for heavy traffic with 4m arms, two digital infrared cameras for license plate recognition. Thus, the entry and exit of vehicles enrolled in the system are carried out quickly, without the need to scan a card or any other ticket. All for the speed and fluidity of access, which are essential in a production unit, while maintaining safety parameters, allowing access only to authorized persons who have the right to use the factory parking.

Access control systems for industrial units such as factories or warehouses help better organize flows in a parking area, allow better monitoring of the use of the company’s own fleet, and guarantee perimeter safety by filtering access only for authorized persons. KADRA specialists are prepared with solutions that can be customized to the needs of clients in this field.
