Tormed Doors for Operating Rooms and Radiology Rooms at Ovidius Clinical Hospital
KADRA proposed the solutions, delivered, and installed a series of hermetic swinging and sliding Tormed doors for the operating rooms, as well as lead-lined doors for radiology rooms or CT scan rooms at Ovidius Clinical Hospital in Constanța County.
Ovidius Clinical Hospital is the largest private multidisciplinary hospital in Southeast Romania, with a capacity of over 150 beds, four operating rooms, and various other laboratories and specialty departments. With a recent investment of 28 million euros, the hospital has been recently expanded with a new building next to the existing one, covering an area of over 7,000 sqm. The new unit will house specialties such as cardiology and oncology.
The hospital aligns with the highest standards in hospital construction and architecture, resembling a Western hospital, and beyond the elegant reception, beyond the entrance walls, hides an entire arsenal of state-of-the-art medical equipment, some of which have arrived for the first time not only in Romania but in the entire Central and Eastern European region.
Tormed ER Medical Doors
Tormed ER is the range of hermetic automatic hospital doors designed by KADRA specialists and equipped with sealing on all four sides. Additionally, during the closing movement, the door leaf lowers and slides, ensuring perfect sealing. Hermetic automatic hospital doors fit perfectly into the ambiance of the space where they are installed, as is the case with the solutions installed at Ovidius Clinical Hospital. To meet design requirements, a wide range of colors and a series of accessories can be chosen. Glass inserts can be used, or even fully glass doors can be opted for.
Tormed doors stand out for their high level of safety: the operator and the door have rounded shapes to reduce dust accumulation and facilitate cleaning. The automation has an inclined upper part so that electrostatic energy is discharged to prevent dust accumulation. The automatic opening/closing system, based on sensors, eliminates the need for personnel contact with the door. This type of door is the ideal solution for pre and post-operative rooms, the operating block, “clean” rooms, and controlled atmosphere rooms.

For rooms where X-ray investigations are conducted, the optimal access solution is represented by lead-lined doors. In the range of Tormed medical doors, such automatic doors are found, and lead lining is done according to the project’s requirements. Doors can be made with lead sheets distributed on both sides with thicknesses between 0.5 mm and 6 mm. The most common requests are those that provide for the insertion of 2 mm lead lining (1 mm sheets on each side of the door leaf). In the case of these doors, a series of constructive elements favor hygiene maintenance, allow quick cleaning, and resistance to chemical cleaning products. Doors can be equipped with radiation protection glass. Lead-lined doors can be equipped with an automation system.
Choosing Tormed solutions from KADRA for the expansion of the most modern private hospital in the east of the country is proof of their quality and reliability.
