Automatic Doors and Smoke Hatches by KADRA for the New Momax Store in FloreșTi

Momax, a furniture and decoration retailer, has opened its fourth store in Romania in Florești, near Cluj. With an investment of 10 million euros, on a 57,000 sqm plot, the store has nearly 50 employees.

Quick and Safe Access for Inspired Shopping

Creating an entrance area in the store that attracts customers, is well integrated into the building facade, functional, and safe during peak traffic conditions will increase the chances of the commercial facility being visited by as many shoppers as possible.

For the new Momax in Florești, KADRA teams proposed two automatic sliding doors, with two panels, of generous dimensions (2000×2300 mm) given that we are talking about a furniture retailer, so the access area will often be traversed by bulky objects.

Quiet, efficient, easy to operate, eliminating any barrier that may stand between the customer and the store where they want to shop, automatic sliding doors contribute to maintaining a constant indoor climate, having a positive impact on the energy bill and equally ensuring the security of the store.

The benefits of an automatic sliding door for a furniture and decoration retailer are multiple:

  • Optimized traffic flows
  • Generous sizing of the entrance/exit area
  • Weather resistance
  • Energy efficiency
  • Safety in operation
  • Perimeter security
  • Compact design
  • Hygiene

The automatic sliding doors proposed by KADRA for shopping centers are a solution that offers a generous and functional opening, complemented by a special design that can be easily integrated into the facade of any building, successfully handling heavy traffic.

Skylights with Inserted Smoke Hatches and Smoke Hatches for Compliance with Safety Regulations

In addition to automatic doors, KADRA teams also delivered and installed modular self-supporting skylights with smoke hatches inserted in the skylight, as well as conventional smoke hatches of various sizes.

While skylights allow natural light to enter the interior, smoke hatches help evacuate smoke and release heat from an enclosure, having a dual role: ensuring personnel safety and protecting the building in case of fire.

Through the automatic opening of smoke hatches, hot gases and smoke are quickly evacuated, evacuation paths remain visible thus protecting the people in the respective enclosure. At the same time, oxygen entry and the elimination of toxic gases are ensured. In most fire cases, the majority of victims are caused by lack of oxygen and not by contact with fire or hot gases.

For a shopping center that also has a large storage area, many daily visitors, it is absolutely necessary to install such hatches, for compliance with current fire protection regulations.

For the intake of natural air and good ventilation of the enclosure, our teams have also automated the windows which are equipped with synchronizable electric motors, special for operating large windows. These have a large opening stroke and pushing force for maximum efficiency.

Momax Cluj is an integrated project for which KADRA teams acted in coordination for access automation (automatic doors), fire protection (smoke hatches), and natural ventilation (window motors), all with the aim of having a functional and safe shopping center.
