Bronze-clad Revolving Doors for the Office Building in Iulius Town TimișOara
In the case of office buildings, just like shopping centers or malls, the entrance is a true calling card, decisive for making a good first impression on those who cross the threshold, whether they are employees, collaborators, or simple visitors. Professionalism, elegance, safety, efficiency are key words that can be successfully used to describe both the access area of the building and the activity itself that takes place there.
The Access Area, the Calling Card of an Office Building
Revolving doors are often the solution preferred by architects and designers for real estate developments that house offices because they optimally combine functionality and design. It is also the most used door model that KADRA teams recommend for large office buildings, besides appearance and allowing a continuous and orderly flow inside, this door model also brings significant savings in terms of energy consumption, as it ensures minimal air transfer between exterior and interior, maintaining a constant climate in the lobby/reception area.
One of the recent projects for which we completed the installation of three revolving doors is the office building within Iulius Town in Timișoara, a mixed urban regeneration project in the west of the country that harmoniously combines retail, office, park, and entertainment functions in one place. Given that we are talking about a special real estate development, which has become that “center” of the city around which urban life gravitates, the access solution chosen for the office building was accordingly. It is about bronze-clad revolving doors.
Bronze Cladding – a Niche Solution for a Special Project
Why bronze? Because it is a noble alloy visually associated with precious metals. The alloy records the “patina of time,” meaning it changes its shade over time at its own pace, influenced by external factors. Untreated bronze is the perfect solution due to its increased resistance and unique patina. Thanks to this, the three automatic revolving doors made of bronze will change color over time to an intense chocolate hue and will evolve together with the building they are part of.
KADRA’s traditional supplier, Blasi Record, which produced these special doors, is among the few in Europe that can offer this model. Especially in the context of the constant increase in raw material prices in the construction sector during this period, it was necessary to work with a serious supplier who respects commitments and delivers everything on time.
Access, between Functionality and Design
Respecting the global idea of the Iulius Town Timișoara development, the architectural project for the office building was conceived with the basic idea of including metallic elements such as copper, aluminum, and bronze and having a modern, homogeneous design meant to provide employees in the building with the environment and inspiration they need to develop interesting projects. Given the large number of employees who transit the office space, two bronze-clad revolving doors were installed at the main entrance, with a third door mounted at a secondary entrance.
Therefore, beyond design aspects, revolving doors have the great advantage of accommodating significant flows of people who use them, especially during peak hours, ensuring good isolation between the interior and exterior environment despite the numerous rotations they perform. This isolation contributes to controlling ambient temperature, reducing energy consumption, and maintaining a constant atmosphere inside.
Special projects, as is the case with Iulius Town in Timișoara, one of the most daring real estate developments in Romania, require special solutions that can only be conceived and implemented through discussions with the building’s designers and builders, relying on top suppliers and matching installation teams. At KADRA, you can find, in one place, the complete team for integrated projects: from specialized consultancy, to the best manufacturers in Europe, to professional teams for installation and maintenance.
