Over the past few years, Cluj-Napoca has become a hub for IT companies, also known as the Silicon Valley of Romania. Thus, the heart of Transylvania attracts new companies and employees eager to evolve and grow in this industry year after year.
2 Bronze BLASI Doors Installed at United Business Center Cluj
To meet the needs of these companies, at the beginning of 2013, Iulius Group – one of the most important developers with Romanian capital – began the construction of the imposing United Business Center Cluj office building. For the automatic doors, Iulius Group opted for an advanced solution offered by the German company BLASI, part of the Record group.
Completed at the end of 2014, the building has an area of 10,000 square meters and is built on 10 levels, to high standards, class A. In the immediate vicinity of the office building, Iulius Group also arranged a green space of over 30,000 square meters.
The office building is currently 100% occupied by major companies Endava and Genpact. Like a new business card, the building, located close to the center of Cluj, facilitating quick access and offering high standards, provides the occupying companies with an added image and prestige in the market.
Technical Details – Bronze Revolving Doors
Knowing even before the start of the works who the main clients of United Business Center Cluj would be, the architectural project was conceived with the basic idea of including metallic elements such as copper, aluminum, and bronze and having a modern design meant to provide the employees in the building with the environment and inspiration they need to grow their ideas and turn them into unique projects.
Due to the large number of employees passing through the office space, two manual bronze automatic revolving doors, RECORD – BLASI, produced in Germany, were installed at the entrance to United Business Center Cluj. BLASI is the most well-known brand among architects at the European level in terms of automatic revolving doors and special automatic doors. The extensive experience in special projects was the reason why the builder chose BLASI to construct this special bronze cladding solution for the fixed leaves.
The chosen solution is not only a strong architectural element but also an advanced technical solution, allowing a flow of 2,000 people per hour.
With a diameter of 2.9 m, a height of 2.6 m, and a weight of approximately 500 kilograms per door, the 2 bronze revolving doors offer a unique access path into the building, providing visitors and employees with a strong first impression created by the imposing size and unique design.

General Information – Bronze Revolving Doors
The fixed leaves of the two revolving doors are made of bronze, while the mobile ones are made of glass encapsulated in a bronze frame, with champagne-colored anodized aluminum handles. The base incorporates a speed brake, intended to prevent the door from spinning uncontrollably.
Considering the copper-finished interior, a reliable solution for access paths was sought. Copper, although an extraordinary finish for interior decorations and furniture, does not have the necessary strength for long-term use. Untreated bronze was the perfect solution due to its increased resistance and chocolate patina. Thanks to this patina, the two bronze revolving doors will change color over time, to an intense chocolate hue, and will evolve along with the building they are part of.
