KADRA Automatic Doors for Central Hall PloieșTi: Elegant, Safe, and Fast Access
An emblematic building for the city of Ploiești, the Central Halls represent a heritage construction designed in the 1930s by the renowned local architect Toma Socolescu. Today, the building houses the city’s central market with dozens of stalls and shops from which thousands of locals and others who pass through its doors are supplied daily.
Break-Out Automatic Doors for the Main Entrance and one of the Secondary Entrances
KADRA engineers proposed to local authorities an elegant, safe, and efficient solution for the main entrance as well as for one of the secondary entrances.
Access to such a building as the central hall in Ploiești must meet diverse needs: fast access for a large flow of people, especially at certain times, safety to comply with ISU standards, energy efficiency, and design harmonized with the architecture of the building, which is almost 100 years old. All these were resolved by proposing two access solutions, namely:
- For the main entrance, a 5700x3200mm assembly was chosen, consisting of 2 fixed panels, 2 mobile panels, 2 fixed lateral zones, equipped with a transom;
- For the Brașov 1 entrance, a 3200x3800mm assembly was chosen, consisting of 2 fixed panels, 2 mobile panels, equipped with a transom.
Both automatic doors are equipped with a breakout system that allows full opening in an emergency situation for the rapid evacuation of people inside.

Customized Access Solution
Beyond safe and fast access for visitors and merchants, these solutions proposed by KADRA specialists solve the problem of air transfer between the exterior and interior, contributing to the building’s energy efficiency, which is even more important in the context of rising energy prices.
The KADRA team proposed an adapted solution after analyzing the situation on the ground, observing the wear level of the old access solutions that could no longer be used, space constraints, the specifics of the construction, and the flow of people using the two entrances. This led to the proposal of these two sliding doors with a breakout system, in the appropriate sizes, installed by the specialized KADRA Service team, which performed all necessary tests and adjustments for optimal use.
Thus, an old historic building, still functional and frequented daily by a significant number of people, has become more welcoming, offering better conditions for shopping in full comfort and safety.
