E.ON Gaz Romania, formerly known as Distrigaz Nord, has a long history in the natural gas industry in Romania. The company was established in 2000 following a decision by the Romanian Government to restructure Romgaz, resulting in Distrigaz Nord.

In June 2005, the German company E.ON Ruhrgas acquired a 51% stake in Distrigaz Nord from the Romanian state for 304 million euros, becoming the majority shareholder. Shortly thereafter, the company was renamed E.ON Gaz Romania.

Today, E.ON Gaz distributes natural gas in 20 counties in the northern part of the country – Crișana, Moldova, Maramureș, Banat, and Transylvania – serving approximately 1.3 million customers in over 1,000 localities. In 2006, the amount of gas supplied was 3.1 billion cubic meters through a network of 17,600 km.

Headquarters in TâRgu Mureș – Revolving Doors for Efficient Access

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of E.ON’s activity in the Romanian energy market, the new office building Benta Office Building in Târgu Mureș was inaugurated. Currently, over 700 E.ON employees work in this headquarters, making the city an important coordination center for the company.

Construction of the building began in April 2014, and the structural framework was completed in just eight months. The facade installation followed, taking place over five months – covering over 7,000 square meters.

Benta Office Building has a total area of 23,000 sqm, divided into modern offices, meeting rooms, conference rooms, and related facilities. The building is equipped with a fresh air climate control system, air handling units, A-class energy lighting, fire detection and extinguishing systems – all integrated into an intelligent control system. There are 160 parking spaces available.

During the construction, over 1,000 workers were present on-site at various stages. The building is powered by 600 km of electrical cables and is protected by over 1,500 smoke detectors and 2,000 fire sprinklers.

Details about the K31 Revolving Door

To ensure quick, elegant, and efficient access for over 700 employees, an automatic glass revolving door with 3 wings – model K31 – was chosen.

It is made of aluminum fully clad with mirror-type stainless steel, and the wings are made of tempered glass. The door has an outer diameter of 2,800 mm and a passage height of 2,400 mm. It is ideal for high-traffic areas, with a passage capacity of approximately 1,900 people/hour.

For comfort and energy efficiency, the door is equipped with a warm air curtain integrated at the top. At night, the revolving door is secured with curved sliding doors on the outside.
