Octavian Chiruță, Director of KADRA Service

“A service job well done doesn’t just mean fixing what broke, but preventing what could break tomorrow.”

In this article, we go behind the scenes of KADRA Service’s activity and discuss what access system maintenance really means. We talk about prevention, hidden risks, the difference between a one-off intervention and a long-term partnership, as well as the role of technical audits in complex locations where operational continuity is essential.

Behind the scenes at KADRA Service with Octavian Chiruță

1. How does the KADRA Service team approach maintenance and service for access systems? What does "service done right" mean to you, beyond a simple intervention?

Octavian Chiruță: At KADRA Service, we view maintenance as a strategic process, not a one-off intervention.

A service job well done doesn’t just mean putting a piece of equipment back into operation or checking whether it “works.” It means understanding why the problem occurred and eliminating in advance the causes that could lead to other failures.

Experience shows us that most incidents stem from progressive wear or changes in usage patterns. That’s why we place such emphasis on prevention. Our intervention often includes recommendations or training for the client’s staff, since operational flows and habits evolve over time and directly affect how systems function.

We solve the immediate issue, but we always look at the bigger picture.

2. What are the most common issues you find in the field when a piece of equipment hasn't had regular maintenance? What becomes clearly visible after a year of neglect?

Octavian Chiruță: Over time, a piece of equipment without regular maintenance becomes an operational risk. We’re talking about motorized systems, live components, and safety elements that need to function within exact parameters.

After a year without inspections, you frequently see misaligned sensors, dirt buildup in mechanisms, accelerated wear of parts, forced motorization, or altered operating parameters. All of these reduce performance and can create safety risks.

Even when equipment is professional-grade and built to last, the lack of prevention inevitably leads to progressive degradation. And costs increase the longer the intervention is delayed.

3. Where do you feel KADRA Service makes a difference compared to other teams in the market? What does the client see in their relationship with you?

Octavian Chiruță: The difference comes from the combination of constant presence, technical expertise, and long-term commitment.

The client sees real availability: teams that respond quickly, that can step in even outside regular hours, and that provide immediate technical support, including remote diagnostics whenever the situation allows.

We have nationwide coverage through our own teams in strategic locations, which allows us to react quickly and ensure operational continuity for organizations with complex operations.

But beyond the response itself, it’s about the relationship. We don’t treat an intervention as an isolated event, but as part of a long-term partnership.

4. How does the technical audit offered by KADRA Service work? What added value does it bring, especially for complex locations?

Octavian Chiruță: The technical audit is the first step toward control and predictability.

Our specialists analyze the existing equipment, assess its actual condition, identify critical points, and propose a clear plan of priorities. The client gets a complete picture and can plan investments realistically.

For complex locations, such as hospitals, logistics parks, or shopping centers with heavy traffic, the audit reduces risks and helps optimize system performance.

Our multi-brand experience and the know-how accumulated over more than 30 years allow us to offer objective recommendations, tailored to each context.

5. How have client expectations of a service provider changed in recent years? What does it mean today to be a partner, not just a contractor?

Octavian Chiruță: Expectations have clearly increased.

Clients are no longer looking just for quick fixes, but for operational stability and predictability. They want consistency, transparency, rapid response, and accountability.

Some need planned maintenance with dedicated staff, others require flexibility and after-hours interventions to avoid disrupting their operations. Our role is to adapt to each operational model.

Being a partner means taking responsibility for operational continuity and delivering value consistently, not just fixing things when a problem arises.

6. If you had to convince a hospital manager or a logistics park administrator that a maintenance contract with KADRA Service is worth it, what would be the main argument?

Octavian Chiruță: Predictability and operational safety.

A maintenance contract reduces risks, prevents unplanned shutdowns, and optimizes costs in the long run. In critical infrastructure, continuity is non-negotiable.

For such organizations, maintenance isn’t an additional cost, but an investment in stability, safety, and performance.

7. What has KADRA Service built in recent years to be able to guarantee stability and rapid response?

Octavian Chiruță: In recent years, we’ve built a self-sustaining division focused on performance, scalability, and continuous development.

We’ve invested consistently in expanding our technical teams, training our specialists, maintaining stocks of critical parts, and developing operational processes that ensure rapid response and effective communication with clients. At the same time, we’re continuously growing the organization’s capacity through new locations and technical specialization.
But beyond processes and infrastructure, we believe in people. And for us, that is a real asset.

Today, our service team includes key positions: professionals who represent solid foundations in this process of accelerated growth. We’re talking about dedicated technical support, technical coordinators, and senior technicians, as well as specialists with extensive experience, who don’t just carry out the work, but also build best practices, train colleagues, and actively contribute to the division’s stability.

Clients mainly look for three things: fast communication, parts availability, and technical expertise. At KADRA Service, these three elements are part of our operational standard and define the way we deliver services to clients, consistently and predictably.

For us, organizational stability starts with the people who build it day by day.
