Versatile Solutions for Natural Ventilation for Health and Energy Savings

We all agree that the modern person spends a lot of time indoors (at the office or at home) and less time in nature.

Indoor Comfort

Enclosed spaces often represent an environment with well-controlled parameters to ensure the comfort of inhabitants (temperature, humidity). Large office spaces are equipped with complex air conditioning systems that are also large energy consumers and circulate conditioned, filtered air. It is certain that people need natural air, and this can be provided through a simple window automation solution for buildings, a simple and accessible technology that greatly contributes to creating a sense of freedom for beneficiaries.

Automatically Operated Windows for Fresh Air

Window automation has the vital role of evacuating hot gases in case of fire but also significantly aids in daily ventilation of rooms.

Window automation opens up a wide range of possibilities for generating creative, intelligent, and innovative architectural concepts, bringing a series of benefits across multiple areas:

Benefits:

  • reducing the energy consumption of air conditioning systems;
  • improving indoor air quality;
  • evacuating hot gases in case of fire;

How is Natural Ventilation Achieved through Window Automation?

By installing a comfort control unit responsible for controlling ventilation. It is equipped with specific sensors for temperature, wind, rain. Thus, according to a pre-established algorithm, windows can open in the evening or morning when it is cooler. By storing a quantity of fresh and cool air in the room, energy consumption is also reduced by limiting the use of centralized ventilation systems. Generally, centralized heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are energy-intensive (consuming up to 20-30% of all the energy a office building needs).

This window automation can be easily integrated with the existing building management system (BMS). Ideally, the advantage brought by such a comfort control unit should be integrated from the very beginning in the concept of the respective space, but it can also be added later.
KADRA’s window automation solutions address both the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Additionally, our solutions allow synchronization of motors to open large glazed surfaces or a very large number of windows.

In the commercial and residential sectors, we offer a series of modern automations that also provide hi-tech functions: control from mobile phone, tablet, or personal computer, integration into modern home control systems (domotics). All for more comfort in spaces where we spend most of our time.

Smoke Hatch for Stairwell Ventilation

If through intelligent automation, windows become very versatile options for natural ventilation, smoke hatches prove to be the ideal solution when talking about residential projects with multiple floors and numerous apartments on the same staircase. It is installed on the roof of the building and fulfills multiple roles: stairwell ventilation, natural lighting, smoke extraction in case of fire, roof access.

Through an automation system connected to a weather station, hatches can “intelligently” ventilate the premises.

Hatches are operated only electrically, and at the command of the building management systems, they will open at a smaller or larger angle depending on the ventilation needs, and in case of fire, they will open completely.

For roof access, we will start the maintenance program which will retract the hatch.
Skymax is a KADRA solution for hatches that fulfills all the roles described above, also complying with the legal regulations for fire protection.

Our health, safety, and comfort should be a priority regardless of the destination of the space where we spend time, whether at home or at the office, and at KADRA we are committed to always bringing the latest technologies to contribute to creating perfect spaces for life.
