Automatic Doors – The Secure Solution for Proper Hospital Flow Management
Filantropia Hospital and the National Institute of Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology have installed Record automatic doors.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought back into discussion the perennial problem of Romanian hospitals: the lack of equipment for medical staff, infrastructure issues – old, unrenovated hospitals – and the absence of correctly designed intra-hospital flows to avoid the risk of contagion. All these problems have once again demonstrated that the Romanian healthcare system needs infrastructure investments more than ever. With willpower and long-term planning, these aspects can be substantially improved for the benefit of both patients and medical personnel.
Some medical units have understood the importance of these improvements and have begun to invest in change. Recently, our colleagues at KADRA implemented a system of Record automatic doors at Filantropia Hospital and the National Institute of Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology, precisely with the aim of creating safer flows within the hospital.
How can this be achieved? Simply: by correctly implementing optimal access control solutions that delineate special corridors for medical staff and well-defined intra-hospital zones for various categories of patients.
The solution proposed by KADRA teams? Record automatic sliding doors
"We started from the hospital's need to separate areas accessible to medical staff from areas where patients can enter. We implemented a card-based access control system for medical personnel, integrating existing access control to optimize costs. The doors also allow for completely contactless access in a later phase for even greater safety and hygiene."

Why Record automatic doors for hospitals?
Beyond the Swiss quality, which is a guarantee in itself, Record doors have a series of features that recommend them for use in medical units where they can significantly improve the patient experience (e.g., easy access for people with reduced mobility) as well as the working environment for medical staff.
What makes Record automatic sliding doors stand out?
- Absence of noise during operation due to anti-vibration gasket
- Interactive communication between the control unit, motor, sensors, and programmer
- Easy to use, simple menu operation with text display in English, German, French
- The presence sensor detects people in the door’s movement area
- Economical – due to variable opening, depending on usage frequency
- Smart door with self-learning capability
- The operator can be mounted on masonry/curtain wall structure, self-supporting installation, or integrated into the false ceiling
- Aluminum profiles for door leaves and operator can be anodized or RAL painted
- Modular mechanical and electronic system
- Compliant with current standards EN 16005
At KADRA, we constantly work to adapt the best solutions to our clients’ needs, with a special focus on the medical sector, where automatic access solutions can have a significant impact on the quality of medical care, the health status of patients, and the level of safety in which doctors and all auxiliary staff operate.
